{"id":290611,"date":"2026-02-10T14:09:10","date_gmt":"2026-02-10T14:09:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/290611\/"},"modified":"2026-02-10T14:09:10","modified_gmt":"2026-02-10T14:09:10","slug":"limerick-man-caught-transporting-thousands-of-euros-of-drugs-on-scrambler-bike","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/290611\/","title":{"rendered":"Limerick man caught transporting thousands of euros of drugs on scrambler bike"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A YOUNG man has been brought before the courts for transporting over \u20ac10,000 of drugs on a scrambler bike in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Limerick city<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Josh Crawford, with a home address at Clarina Avenue, Ballinacurra Weston, was spotted by Garda Conor Murphy \u201cacting suspiciously\u201d next to his parked scrambler bike on a \u201cquite warm\u201d day on April 14, 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The garda detailed that Mr Crawford, now 23 years old, was wearing a face covering and dressed in all-black at the Canal Walk in the city. The man sped away from the garda, but was eventually caught when he fell off the bike.<\/p>\n<p>Upon search, Garda Murphy found several packages of brown powder on Mr Crawford\u2019s person with an estimated street value of \u20ac11,781.<\/p>\n<p>READ MORE:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/news\/local-news\/2008016\/mystery-deepens-over-missing-limerick-man-with-survival-skills-who-answers-to-two-names.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Mystery deepens over missing Limerick man with &#8216;survival skills&#8217; who answers to two names<\/a><\/p>\n<p>During questioning, Mr Crawford refused to say where he was transporting the drugs to or who his associates were.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Crawford told garda\u00ed that he has a debt of \u20ac3,000, and that he is addicted to weed.
