A new movie is being filmed in West Cork<\/a>, with streets cordoned off as crew and cast descend on the small village of Timoleague. Hollywood A-lister Brad Pitt<\/a> is scheduled to shoot some scenes in Cork after being spotted in Dublin for his new feature film<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Some scenes for the upcoming drama One for All, an adaptation of novel The Riders, were shot at Bullock Harbour in Dalkey last week, while other scenes will be filmed across locations in Cork<\/a> and Kerry. Two streets in Timoleague have been cordoned off for filming this week, with plenty of chatter over the expected arrival of a certain Hollywood celeb after it emerged that Mr Pitt had arrived in Ireland.<\/p>\n

Locals have been keeping a sharp eye out, made a small bit harder though by a recent trend of Cork businesses<\/a> having a laugh and sharing fake AI images on social media <\/a>showing the US star casually grabbing a quick bite of a drink at their pub, restaurant or caf\u00e9.<\/a><\/p>\n

Main Street and Mill Street in Timoleague, a small village just east of Skibbereen<\/a>, have been blocked off for a shoot and photos of the set show crews working in the dark, capturing footage of an old-looking Garda car. Simon Walton, the owner of the local Charlie Madden’s bar, shared that it has brought some excitement into the village.<\/p>\n

However, businesses<\/a> in the area have been told their Main Street being turned into a film set is not for any upcoming blockbuster. A notice handed out to pubs, restaurants and caf\u00e9s weeks before film crews rocked up describes the shoot as being for an independent, small budget movie<\/a> called ‘Hemingway’s Bar.’<\/p>\n

They were advised that two streets would be closed off for a number of hours, and asked people not to park there during these times. Many suspect the whole thing is a misdirect, as higher ups try to keep the whole project under wraps until the production is done and dusted.<\/p>\n

Sources in Timoleague have confirmed to Cork Beo that Brad Pitt was not seen at the shoot yesterday evening. And members of the public are advised against travelling to the small village in the hopes of catching him. It’s a strictly closed set and you won’t get a chance to see him in Cork<\/a> – your best bet is to wait for the film to hit cinemas, likely some time in 2027.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Cork Beo, bar owner Simon Walton shared how he got a big reaction online after playing a ‘prank,’ sharing a blurry, AI-edited photo that made it look like Brad Pitt was in the village.<\/p>\n

He said: “We got the notice about Hemingway’s Bar being filmed around weeks ago. There was plenty of activity around the bar last night, brought a big crowd into the pub. A lot of people did travel to see if he was there, but nobody saw him. My daughter’s in college in Limerick, and they were actually thinking of organising a bus down to come see him!”<\/p>\n

One for All, the adaptation on Tim Winton’s 1994 novel The Riders, is set to film at a number of locations across Europe, including the Greek Island of Hydra. Pitt plays lead role Fred Scully, a father who tries to relocate his family to remote Irish farmhouse but ends up searches for his wife across Europe after his daughter shows up alone with no explaination as to where her mother has disappeared to.<\/p>\n
