Flea<\/a> has channeled Frank Ocean<\/a> (and perhaps some other spirits\/entities?) as he releases his own rendition of \u201cThinkin Bout You.\u201d Guess this just goes to prove that absolutely no one can resist the might of Channel Orange.<\/p>\n

The instrumental and orchestral ballad finds the Red Hot Chili Peppers member performing both trumpet and bass, and he\u2019s joined by upright bassist Anna Butterss alongside a string arrangement from Nate Walcott (Bright Eyes). The end result isn\u2019t like the original whatsoever, but it certainly captures something moving and oddly charming. Listen to it below.<\/p>\n

\u201cThinkin Bout You\u201d marks our third preview of Flea\u2019s debut solo album, Honora, due out March 27th via Nonesuch Records. The other two singles were \u201cA Plea\u201d<\/a> and the Thom Yorke-featuring \u201cTraffic Lights.\u201d<\/a> The album boasts six original compositions alongside further interpretations of songs by George Clinton and Eddie Hazel, Jimmy Webb, and Shea Taylor. Flea previously said that the record is about \u201creturning to his first instrument and musical love, the trumpet.\u201d<\/p>\n
