J. Cole<\/a> may have billed The Fall-Off<\/a> as his final album, but that doesn\u2019t mean he\u2019s hanging up his mic for good.<\/p>\n

In a Q&A with fans on his Inevitable blog this week following the release of his latest LP, the Dreamville rapper shared an update on his future music plans, confirming that his long-awaited project It\u2019s a Boy is still coming out.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo it\u2019s not scrapped. It will release,\u201d he responded to one fan who asked about the status of the project, which was first teased by Cole back in 2020 as part of \u201cThe Fall-Off Era\u201d (which also included Revenge of the Dreamers III, The Off-Season and, of course, The Fall-Off).<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cWe almost put it out before the album. But with the Birthday Blizzard tape and 24-song album we was like it\u2019s a lot of music to process.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cole also teased releasing leftover material from The Fall-Off, including alternate versions of the early fan-favorite \u201cLegacy.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked about the first song he recorded for the album, the North Carolina native replied: \u201cThe answer is Legacy. That song not only stood the test of time, it went through phases and got better and better with more love and attention.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne day this year I plan to put the different iterations of that song on the blog, so people can hear how it progressed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Addressing his \u201cA Plate of Collard Greens\u201d collaborator Daylyt<\/a>\u2018s recent comment that none of the Fall-Off tracks he previously heard (and loved) made the final cut, Cole said: \u201cI only remember one joint he for sure heard. That\u2019s still coming out. It was a lot of music recorded.\u201d<\/p>\n

J. Cole fans can also expect him to become a lot more active behind the boards as a producer for other artists, adding to a discography that already includes credits for Kendrick Lamar<\/a>, Pusha T<\/a>, Mac Miller<\/a> and others.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy passion and excitement right now is in producing,\u201d he revealed during the Q&A session. \u201cI wanna make beats, produce for other artists, even if I\u2019m not making the beat. Just helping to craft the vision. That\u2019s a big passion of mine.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the stash of new music he plans to put out, Cole has no plans to release another studio album \u2014 sticking to his original plan that The Fall-Off will be his final offering.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have no interest in making more \u2018J. Cole\u2019 albums,\u201d he declared. \u201cI will write, I will record when it hits me. Release new music if the spirit says to do so. But The Fall-Off is a project I won\u2019t try to top.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"J.
