Morrissey<\/a>.com has been sold at auction by GoDaddy, though the singer himself did not enter a bid to purchase it.<\/p>\n

The soloist and former Smiths<\/a> frontman shared an update in a post on his official website, MorrisseyCentral.com<\/a>, yesterday (Tuesday February 10).<\/p>\n

He wrote: \u201cIt has come to our attention that on January 25, 2026, Morrissey.com was purchased at auction. At this time, Morrissey nor his team have any affiliation with this domain.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Stereogum<\/a> notes, Morrissey finally had the opportunity to purchase the domain when it was put up for auction on GoDaddy \u2013 \u201cthe world\u2019s largest and most trusted domain registrar\u201d. However, the artist reportedly did not submit a bid to acquire the site.<\/p>\n

It is said that Morrissey.com sold for $11,253 (\u00a38,263), and the new buyer\u2019s revamped version of the website is now live. It currently displays a photograph of London\u2019s Palace of Westminster, along with the slogan: \u201cI\u2019m not far right, I\u2019m not far left, I\u2019m\u2026 far FORWARD.\u201d See it here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The message on the site is seemingly a nod to Morrissey\u2019s political stance, and a\u00a0t-shirt he previously wore on stage<\/a>. In 2018, he said he was \u201cneither Loony Left nor Far Right\u201d while describing himself as \u201ca humanitarian\u201d<\/a>. Then, in 2023, he insisted that he was \u201cmost certainly not Far Right\u201d<\/a> after his past endorsements of For Britain<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy politics are straightforward: I recognise realities,\u201d he said at the time. \u201cSome realities horrify me, and some do not, but I accept that I was not created so that others might gratify me and delight me with all that they think and do \u2013 what a turgid life that would be.\u201d<\/p>\n

Morrissey.com had previously been owned by numerous people, such as fashion designer Peter Morrissey and a squatter.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Morrissey is set to release his new album \u2018Make-Up Is A Lie\u2019<\/a> on March 6 via Sire\/Warner. It marks his first solo record in six years, following on from 2020\u2019s \u2018I Am Not A Dog On A Chain\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He has already previewed the forthcoming project with its title track<\/a> and his latest single, \u2018Notre-Dame\u2019<\/a>. The studio version of the latter song notably omits a controversial lyric relating to terrorism that he sang live.<\/p>\n

Morrissey is scheduled to play his only UK gig <\/a>of the year<\/a>\u00a0at The O2 in London on February 28,\u00a0as part of\u00a0his European tour<\/a>.\u00a0Find any remaining tickets here<\/a>. He recently cancelled some shows in the US<\/a>, citing \u201cartist illness\u201d.<\/p>\n

In 2025,\u00a0Morrissey said he was \u201cburnt out by any and all connections\u201d to his ex-Smiths bandmates<\/a>. He wrote that he had \u201cno choice but to offer for sale all of his business interests\u201d in the band to any potential investors or parties.<\/p>\n

However,\u00a0he stopped accepting applications shortly afterwards, following a \u201ccolossal response\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n
