Cohabitating has been no bed of roses for Kaley Cuoco<\/a> and her fianc\u00e9, Tom Pelphrey<\/a>.<\/p>\n

So much so that the \u201cBig Bang Theory\u201d alum admitted to Dax Shepard<\/a> on his \u201cArmchair Expert\u201d podcast Monday<\/a> that she and the \u201cOzark\u201d actor sleep in different rooms.<\/p>\n

The subject came up about 55 minutes into the episode, while Cuoco and Shepard were commiserating about how their rescue dogs have taken over their homes. The \u201cFlight Attendant\u201d star admitted that her numerous dogs, along with their 2-year-old daughter Matilda, sleep in her bed at night \u2014 which created a situation that made it ruff for Pelphrey to get any shut-eye.<\/p>\n

Cuoco said Pelphrey eventually hit his limit after one of their senior dogs began \u201cbarking at 3 a.m. at the wall\u201d for no apparent reason. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe was like, \u2018I can\u2019t do this anymore.\u2019 And I\u2019m like, \u2018I understand.\u2019 So he started sleeping in the guest room,\u201d Cuoco said. <\/p>\n

\u201cWhich, by the way \u2026 game changer,\u201d Cuoco said in an excited whisper.<\/p>\n

She went on to explain that the \u201cTask\u201d star is a \u201cnight owl\u201d and tends to go to bed very late, while she tends to keep the same sleeping schedule as their daughter.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe writes at night. He reads, it\u2019s his quiet time,\u201d Cuoco said of her fianc\u00e9. \u201cSo he\u2019s up late and wakes up late on a non-working day. We established this from day one. I go to bed early, and I wake up early.\u201d <\/p>\n

Although Cuoco said she felt like she was \u2018\u201cwalking on eggshells\u201d in the mornings when she woke up early while Pelphrey was still asleep, she admitted that when he finally suggested in a couples\u2019 therapy session that they make sleeping in different rooms a permanent thing, she freaked out a bit.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo he brings us up. At first, I\u2019m like, \u2018What will people think?\u2019 And he\u2019s like, \u2018I never see you at night.\u2019 I don\u2019t see him. It\u2019s not our sexy time. We don\u2019t cuddle. Yeah. We don\u2019t see each other at night,\u201d Cuoco said. \u201cHe goes, \u2018Why do you care?\u2019 And I sat there and I went, \u2018God, I don\u2019t care.\u2019 And he goes, \u2018Let\u2019s try it.\u2019 \u201d<\/p>\n

Cuoco called their new sleeping arrangement the \u201cbest decision we ever made,\u201d adding, \u201cIt works great for us. We\u2019re, like, so much happier.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sleeping in different rooms is viewed by many as a romantic taboo, with some believing it indicates<\/a> larger issues in a relationship<\/a>. But Phyllis Zee, director of the Sleep Disorders Center at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, told HuffPost in 2016<\/a> that sleeping next to your partner is not the only way to retain an emotional connection. <\/p>\n
