In 2025, the Global Antibiotic Research &amp; Development Partnership announced that a new antibiotic, zoliflodacin, specifically <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thelancet.com\/journals\/lancet\/article\/PIIS0140-6736(25)01953-1\/fulltext\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">intended to treat gonorrhea in a single dose<\/a>, had been approved by the FDA.
