The highly toxic Hemlock Water Dropwort plant has been found washed up in a second location.<\/p>\n
Dublin City Council Parks said it has become aware that Hemlock Water Dropwart has washed up on Dollymount Beach on Bull Island in north Dublin.<\/p>\n
“The roots of this plant are highly toxic and can look similar to a parsnip,” the council said.<\/p>\n
The public is being asked to avoid this root as brushing against the plant could irritate the skin or if ingested it could be “severely dangerous” for people and animals, Dublin City Council Parks said.<\/p>\n
It is urging the public to be vigilant when visiting beaches in the Dublin area and to ensure children and pets avoid touching the plant.<\/p>\n
