Flooding has been reported in several areas of north Dublin, with a Status Yellow rain warning in place for the capital and Wicklow, ahead of a low temperature warning for the country overnight.<\/p>\n

Motorists are being urged to drive with care as flooding has been reported in Santry, Rush and parts of the M1.<\/p>\n

Parts of the R108 close to Dublin Airport are closed due to flooding.<\/p>\n

Flooding has also been reported in parts of Swords.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Fingal County Council said they are receiving reports of spot flooding and the council is assessing the situation.<\/p>\n

Dublin Bus has announced diversions on four of its routes this morning – the 16, 33, 41 and 41C – due to flooding.<\/p>\n

It said that due to flooding at Collinstown, those routes will divert at Coolock Lane on to the M1 to Dublin Airport.<\/p>\n

A Status Yellow rain alert for Dublin and Wicklow is in effect until midday, with Met \u00c9ireann warning of further spells of “heavy rain”.<\/p>\n

The forecaster also warned temperatures are expected to fall to between -1C and -3C generally across the country overnight, with sharp frost and icy conditions.<\/p>\n

The low temperature warning will be in effect from 9pm until 10am tomorrow.<\/p>\n

Dublin Airport is advising people travelling to the airport this morning to take care as some roads are closed due to flooding, following heavy rain overnight.<\/p>\n

It said that flight operations were running as normal.<\/p>\n

Flooding has been reported at Junction 4 on the M1 at Donabate, with the slip road (southbound) closed.<\/p>\n

There are also delays on many routes around Dublin, with heavy congestion reported on the M50 southbound between J6 and J13.<\/p>\n

Met \u00c9ireann said tonight will be mainly dry but “very cold” and frosty with some icy patches.<\/p>\n

The adverse weather conditions, it said, could cause hazardous travel conditions on the road and underfoot alongside travel disruption.<\/p>\n

Many business and properties have been flooded in the east in recent weeks, including Dublin and Wexford among others, due to heavy rainfall.<\/p>\n

Homes in Rathfarnham were flooded by water coming from Castle Stream, White Church Stream and the Dodder River, while Clontarf in north Dublin was also affected.<\/p>\n

The adverse weather has previously disrupted public transport across the capital, such as DART and bus services.<\/p>\n

Met \u00c9ireann has reported that last month was the wettest January in Ireland since 2018<\/a>.<\/p>\n
