N Connacht\ud83c\udf28\ufe0f.<\/p>\n<p>While it will be mostly clear for a time, high cloud will start to build in from the Atlantic overnight\u2601\ufe0f.<\/p>\n<p>Lows of 0 to -4\u00b0C <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/fE7cp8L4Hf\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/fE7cp8L4Hf<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Met \u00c9ireann (@MetEireann) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MetEireann\/status\/2022354562779164881?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">February 13, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Apart from the \u201codd wintry shower\u201d in Ulster and north Connacht, the night will be mainly dry, though lowest temperatures could range from 0 to -4 degrees on Friday night, it said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Widespread frost and icy patches will continue into Saturday morning, with afternoon highs of just 2 to 5 degrees expected.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Counties Cork and Kerry will subsequently fall under a status yellow rain warning from midday on Saturday until midnight Sunday, with heavy rainfall expected to cause spot flooding and difficult travel conditions. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">At the same time, counties Cavan, Donegal, Longford, and all of Connacht will fall under a status yellow rain and snow warning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Met \u00c9ireann said rain, which will be heavy at times, will turn to sleet or snow, resulting in poor visibility and difficult travel conditions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The warnings follow intense rainfall overnight across Wicklow and Dublin, where a number of areas experienced significant flooding.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph b-it-article-body__interstitial-link\">[\u00a0<a aria-label=\"Open related story\" class=\"c-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/environment\/2026\/02\/13\/clongriffin-apartment-dwellers-hit-hard-by-flooding\/\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u2018The water was up past the dashboard\u2019: Clongriffin residents see cars submerged by torrential rainOpens in new window<\/a>\u00a0]<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">In an update on Friday evening, Dublin City Council said although rainfall had eased, it was monitoring elevated surface water levels \u201cacross the city\u201d, particularly the river Liffey in the Chapelizod area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">It added that it was working with Waterways Ireland due to heightened water levels along the Grand Canal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Crews will remain active across the weekend to implement planned mitigation measures and address further issues as they arise, it said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The council urged the public to exercise caution in areas where flooding \u201chas occurred or may occur\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Earlier on Friday, the council said it was querying the \u201ctimelines\u201d of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/weather-events\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/weather-events\/\" target=\"_blank\">weather<\/a> warnings issued in the early hours after the capital experienced \u201cexceptionally heavy rainfall\u201d overnight.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Met \u00c9ireann, which issued a status yellow rainfall warning at 2.36am on Friday, said the rain was more intense than forecast earlier on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cThis warning was issued to increase public awareness, taking account of expected intense rainfall during the morning commuting period,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Dublin City Council noted that 46mm of rain had been recorded at the Mellowes Road rain gauge overnight, with 9.6mm falling in a single hour.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Combined with already saturated grounds, this resulted in a number of flooding incidents across the city, it said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Significant effects were reported in several areas, including Clongriffin and Ballymun, where flooding affected roads and properties.<\/p>\n<p>Flooding at apartments in Clongriffin, north Dublin.
