Daniel Radcliffe<\/a> has named Arctic Monkeys<\/a> as the best band he has ever seen live.<\/p>\n

The actor revealed that he had seen the Sheffield indie legends as they were on the rise around the release of their 2006 debut \u2018Whatever People Say I Am, That\u2019s What I\u2019m Not\u2019<\/a> and recounted the experience of seeing them on the precipice of fame in a recent interview.<\/p>\n

\u201cI went to the Reading Festival<\/a> in [when I was] 16, and Arctic Monkeys were playing in a tent. They were halfway up the bill of the smallest tent of the festival because they were not yet famous, except they were,\u201d he recalled to Rolling Stone<\/a>\u00a0when asked what the best concert he\u2019d been to was.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe album wasn\u2019t out, but if you were illegally downloading music, which, I\u2019m sorry, I did, you could have listened to the whole thing. Watching this band right on the cusp of becoming massive, where they were in a tent that was probably for a few thousand people, and there were probably like 10,000 people trying to cram in there, that was really cool.\u201d<\/p>\n

Radcliffe is currently in rehearsals for the Broadway production of\u00a0Every Brilliant Thing,\u00a0a one-man show in which his character creates a list of reasons life is worth living in an effort to help his suicidal mother. The West End version late last year featured a rotating cast made up of Lenny Henry, Ambika Mod, Sue Perkins, Jonny Donahoe (the show\u2019s original co-creator), and Minnie Driver.<\/p>\n

Late last year, he reunited with his Harry Potter <\/a>co-star Tom Felton\u00a024 years<\/a> after the release of the franchise\u2019s first movie<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As for Arctic Monkeys, they returned last month <\/a>with the subtle and cinematic track \u2018Opening Night<\/a>\u2018, the first to be taken from\u00a0War Child\u2019s new charity compilation album \u2018Help(2)<\/a>\u2018.<\/p>\n

Amid speculation the band could soon be ending their career, drummer\u00a0Matt Helders<\/a>\u00a0has said making music with the band is something they \u201cwill always do\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Speaking to\u00a0BBC<\/a>\u00a0Radio 1\u2019s\u00a0New Music Show (via\u00a0BBC News<\/a>),\u00a0he added: \u201cI think we went into this knowing it was a one-off. But then, having done it, we probably went away feeling like we just had a lot of fun making this record.<\/p>\n
