High-quality footage of\u00a0Led Zeppelin<\/a>\u00a0playing in Amsterdam in 1972 has\u00a0emerged\u00a0online \u2013 check it out below.<\/p>\n

The rock icons played\u00a0in the Dutch capital in May 1972, just six months after the release of their classic fourth album,\u00a0at one of two warm-up shows for their US tour later that year.<\/p>\n

Footage of the show was captured for the Dutch music TV show\u00a0Popzien\u00a0but has only previously appeared online in low quality \u2013 but now a high-resolution\u00a0four-minute clip has surfaced.<\/p>\n

It shows the band arriving at the airport in Amsterdam, where they are greeted by the rock promoter Lou Van Rees, and then shows the opening of their show at the 10,000-capacity Oude RAI Amsterdam, including the first song of the gig, \u2018Immigrant Song\u2019.<\/p>\n

After the Amsterdam show on May 27, they played in Brussels the following night, before kicking off the US tour in Detroit\u00a0on\u00a0June 6.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere,\u00a0bassist John Paul Jones auctioned off a range of studio equipment last month<\/a>,\u00a0incljuding\u00a0an amp that was blown after being left at\u00a0Dave Grohl<\/a>\u2019s house.<\/p>\n

Among the items up for grabs were a rare Simmons SDS V electronic drum kit, a pair of AKAI digital samplers, a pair of Yamaha NS-10M speakers, and a sought-after Arbiter Soundimension mechanical echo unit that dates back to the \u201860s.<\/p>\n

Robert Plant, meanwhile,\u00a0played a career-spanning set for NPR\u2019s Tiny Desk last year<\/a>, including the 1970 Zeppelin track \u2018Gallows Pole\u2019.<\/p>\n

The animal rights group\u00a0PETA also reached out to Plant last year, urging him to temporarily change his name to \u2018Robert Plant Wool\u2019<\/a>.\u00a0With November considered Plant Wool Month, the push for the name change was done in an effort raises more awareness for plant alternatives to sheep\u2019s wool.<\/p>\n

In a letter to the singer, PETA noted that the short-term name change would make more people aware of plant-powered yarns, including those made from hemp, cotton, orange waste, and more.
