After a wet and particularly chilly Valentine’s Day, when all of Ireland was under a low temperature warning, things aren’t looking much better today as the Rebel County’s washout weekend continues. Forecasts show a day full of persistent, heavy rainfall<\/a>, which won’t clear up properly until later this week.<\/p>\n Temperatures in Cork <\/a>today will be fairly mild, reaching a peak of 11\u00baC by noon before dropping slightly and hovering around the high single digits for much of the day. However, due to the wet and windy conditions, it’ll likely feel colder for those heading out and about.<\/p>\n The rainfall will continue throughout much of the morning, lightening up slightly around lunchtime before coming back in force later this evening. The national forecaster <\/a>is predicting a number of breaks in the rainfall later tonight, but they are expected to be few and far between, with the rain then returning in force overnight.<\/p>\n Looking to the week ahead, Monday is expected to be another wet and windy day for Cork with more scattered showers throughout. Tuesday will offer a small break from the misery, with moderate, dry conditions, but heavy rainfall is expected to return on Wednesday before the skies clear up heading into the weekend.<\/p>\n You can find the full regional forecast for Munster below.<\/p>\n Today<\/p>\n Cloudy and rather wet this morning with scattered showers moving over some of which are heavy too. Sunny spells and scattered showers will follow from the west this afternoon with fresh and gusty westerly winds. Highest temperatures of 8 to 10 degrees.<\/p>\n Tonight<\/p>\n Scattered showers and fresh westerly breezes this evening. Staying mostly dry in the east with just the odd isolated showers passing. Lowest temperatures of 2 to 4 degrees.<\/p>\n Tomorrow<\/p>\n A wet and blustery day overall with scattered showers in a fresh westerly breeze.
