Kerry and Galway played out a hugely dramatic game on Saturday evening, with the Tribesmen coming from 12 points down to earn an unlikely draw in Tralee.<\/p>\n

The home side were dominant for much of the game, with David Clifford producing an attacking masterclass in difficult weather conditions. The Fossa man would score 1-6 in the game, with his side leading by double digits with just over 20 minutes to play.<\/p>\n

Galway would go on to produce a remarkable comeback, with goals from Johnny Maher and Cian Hernon helping to get them back on level terms late on as the game finished with a scoreline of 2-17 to 3-14.<\/p>\n

Galway’s resilience in this game was hugely impressive, especially considering the adversity they faced earlier in the game.<\/p>\n

Goalkeeper Eamonn McGrath was making his league debut for the county, making a couple of costly errors that led to Kerry goals and struggling overall.<\/p>\n

While McGrath will aim to bounce back from that display over the coming weeks, some have questioned how his performance was discussed on the national broadcaster.<\/p>\n

Writing in the Irish Independent<\/a>, criticised the RT\u00c9 duo of Joanne Cantwell and Paul Flynn for their description of McGrath both before and after the game.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s interesting,\u201d said Paul Flynn (of McGrath’s inclusion), which was more than could be said for the punditry…<\/p>\n

It is not unfair to say it was a disaster for Eamonn, not helped by the way the panel patronised him at half-time and after the game. \u201cAn eventful debut\u201d was how it was put.<\/p>\n

His kick-out was butchered. He kicked two \u201945s wide. He gave a four-foot handpass to the Galway corner-back putting him in dire trouble, leading to the interception that caused the first Kerry goal. He dropped the ball to Clifford for Kerry\u2019s second goal.<\/p>\n

Eventful?<\/p>\n

Joe Brolly has long criticised the standard of punditry on show at RT\u00c9 at the moment, something that looks unlikely to change any time soon.<\/p>\n

As for Galway, they will hope that this result will boost what has been a mixed league campaign up to this point.<\/p>\n
