The Two Johnnies star announced baby JJ is coming home to Tipperary after months in hospital\"Johnny<\/p>\n

Johnny Smacks of The Two Johnnies<\/a> has shared an heartwarming update about his baby boy JJ – he’s finally being discharged from hospital.<\/p>\n

Little JJ was born with gastroschisis, a rare health condition. This occurs when a baby’s abdomen doesn’t fully develop and their intestines are outside their body.<\/p>\n

JJ arrived in December and Johnny and his wife Annie have been candid about their son’s journey. He had to endure five surgeries in total.<\/p>\n

“He’ll be in hospital for a whilst yet, but he’s already shown unbelievable fight,” Johnny declared when announcing his arrival.<\/p>\n

Now, JJ is healthy enough to return home to Tipperary<\/a>. “We’re coming home, thanks to ye all for all your lovely messages, kind words and prayers for little JJ,” Johnny expressed in an Instagram post, reports RSVP Live<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“After a long few months, we’re delighted to get him home to Tipperary, it wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for all the incredible surgeons, doctors, nurses and staff in [Children’s Health Ireland<\/a>], we can’t thank them enough.”<\/p>\n

To express his gratitude, Johnny is organising a charity drive for Children’s Health Ireland in the upcoming months. “We… are looking forward to our 3Arena show in aid of them.<\/p>\n

“But for now, we’re all doing well and myself and Annie are looking forward to the madness that is raising a child. The podcasts should be fairly entertaining for the next whilst.<\/p>\n

“Right there’s nappies to be changed, thanks again,” Johnny concluded.<\/p>\n

Friends and fans joined in with their best wishes.<\/p>\n

“That’s just the best news ever – here’s to a fabulous, healthy and incredibly happy life for the fabulous JJ and his amazing mum and dad. The work Children’s Health Ireland] do is simply hard to quantify, it’s just SO remarkable,” said Miriam O’Callaghan<\/a>.<\/p>\n
