The Princess of Wales<\/a> allegedly tried to \u201cgive Meghan Markle<\/a> a chance\u201d, but her efforts were \u201cnot responded to,\u201d an explosive new royal book<\/a> has claimed. Princess Catherine and Meghan do not appear to be as close as they once were, with the duo making joint appearances during the Duchess\u2019s short royal tenure.<\/p>\n

There was once a time when the Sussexes and the Waleses, who were nicknamed the ‘Fab Four’, would appear as united at key events<\/a> as a powerful new quartet in the Royal Family following Prince Harry<\/a> and Meghan’s 2018 wedding. But cracks in their bond began to form, and the two couples began to drift apart, with their rift climaxing after Harry and Meghan\u2019s bombshell exit from the Firm in 2020.<\/p>\n

The Sussexes have made various accusations about the Prince and Princess of Wales, including the alleged bridesmaids row between Catherine and Meghan and William\u2019s objections to Harry\u2019s relationship with Meghan. William and Catherine have never commented on the claims.<\/p>\n

Now, a new book about the Prince and Princess of Wales has given fresh insight into what went on between the two couples, with a key extract focusing on the relationship between the Princess of Wales and the Duchess of Sussex.<\/p>\n

Mr Myers writes: \u201cMeghan and Catherine were two women from incredibly different worlds and very different backgrounds.<\/p>\n

\u201cMeghan had crafted a successful career for herself, while Catherine had essentially had one job. Perhaps two if you count working for the family business.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey did not dress in the same way or act in the same way. But despite this \u2013 and at first the contrast between the two women was largely contrived by the media \u2013 Catherine was willing to give Meghan a chance.\u201d<\/p>\n

The author claims that the future Queen \u201cadored Harry\u201d and had urged her husband to maintain his relationship with him despite their differences.<\/p>\n

He adds: \u201cCatherine and Sophie, the then Countess of Wessex and now Duchess of Edinburgh, had attempted to assist Meghan as she assimilated into royal life, but their \u2018repeated attempts\u2019 were not responded to.<\/p>\n
