Gardai<\/a> have arrested a male following a two-hour standoff at a residential property in the Dun Laoghaire<\/a> area of Dublin on Monday morning.<\/p>\n

The incident unfolded when a male was observed on the roof of a property in the coastal suburban town allegedly in possession of fireworks.<\/p>\n

The male was allegedly throwing tiles from the roof at gardai, who eventually managed to get him off the roof and arrested him.<\/p>\n

Numerous videos circulating online show a number of garda cars and the Emergency Response Unit in the housing estate as officers surrounded the property.<\/p>\n

In a statement to the Irish Mirror<\/a>, An Garda Siochana said: “Gardai arrested a man in relation to an incident of criminal damage at a residential premises in Dun Laoghaire this morning, Monday, February 16.<\/p>\n

“The man is currently detained at a Garda Station in South Dublin.”<\/p>\n

Investigations are ongoing.<\/p>\n
