Chris Hemsworth<\/a> loves himself a five-finger discount \u2014 on set that is. <\/p>\n

Hemsworth spoke to reporters<\/a> at the Los Angeles premiere of his new film, Crime 101<\/a>, last week, where he revealed that he’s “sneakily or not so sneakily” taken a lot of “weapons” from the movie sets he’s been a part of. <\/p>\n

I did Snow White and the Huntsman and I took the axe. With Thor, I’ve taken hammers and I took Stormbreaker, and I wanted to steal the ’69 Camaro but the steering wheel is on the wrong side if I took it back to Australia.<\/p>\n

Weapons have become a staple in Hemsworth’s repertoire, with the actor typically wielding a hammer named Mjolnir in the Thor saga, which later gets upgraded to a battleaxe, Stormbreaker, in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War<\/a>. And while he’s best known for portraying the epic superhero across the Marvel Cinematic Universe \u2014 dating back to as early as 2011 \u2014 Crime 101 has been a welcomed change<\/a> for the Australian-born actor. <\/p>\n

“It feels wonderful,” Hemsworth said of the role, which sees him play an L.A.-based jewel thief who commits crimes up and down the 101 freeway, mystifying police at every turn.<\/p>\n

I was looking for something different. And the character was unexpected, and this is a creative sort of venture, something that would ignite a different experience, and this did that and more with this incredible cast.<\/p>\n

In a separate interview with Collider<\/a> about the film \u2014 which also stars Halle Berry, Barry Keoghan, Monica Barbaro, Corey Hawkins, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Nick Nolte \u2014 Hemsworth elaborated on this unique opportunity for him as an actor, telling the outlet that Crime 101 has given him the chance to tell a story he typically doesn’t get to.<\/p>\n

I hadn’t read a lot of, if any, actually, for a long time, I wasn’t being sent films like this. I wasn’t seeing films like this at the cinema, either, films that were both cinematic and big and beautiful and deserved to be seen on the big screen. There was incredible action and intensity in that space, but it was also complex characters and emotional depth, and a thought-provoking story that didn’t drum you over the head with the answer… it posed real-world, real-life questions that an audience is able to consider and attempt to answer, but again, in a visually stunning, entertaining way.<\/p>\n

It by no means indicates that he’s done with Thor, however, with Hemsworth set to reprise his role in December’s Avengers: Doomsday<\/a>, alongside his daughter Love, portrayed by Hemsworth’s real-life daughter, India Rose. <\/p>\n
