LIMERICK’S<\/a> big Allianz Hurling League Division 1A fixture with Tipperary in Thurles is set to be shown live on RTE TV.<\/p>\n

The game between the arch Munster rivals will throw-in at FBD Semple Stadium at 5.30pm and will be live on RTE 2.<\/p>\n

Limerick will be looking to build on their recent home victory over Kilkenny last time out when facing the All-Ireland champions next weekend.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile,\u00a0 Limerick hurling Captain Declan Hannon has insisted that there will be \u2018massive hunger\u2019 in the Limerick squad this year, as John Kiely’s side set their sights on re-gaining Liam MacCarthy Cup in 2026.<\/p>\n

Recently retired Hannon says that this Limerick team will be looking to right the wrongs of 2025, which ended disappointingly against Dublin in a quarter-final defeat at Croke Park back in June.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere will be massive hunger there this year. It ended disappointingly last year, but on the day against Dublin they were just deserved winners,\u201d Declan Hannon explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe couldn’t look back and think we deserved to win that game, but that’s the level of the inter-county scene, if you’re any bit off, you’ll be beaten and Dublin were deserved winners.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThere will definitely be a bit of hurt and anger there but the boys are so experienced that they know it’s just about performing on the day and trying to transfer that hurt and hunger into a performance so I’m looking forward to seeing how that pans out over the next few months.\u00a0 I think the lads will very much be putting their hands up for accolades come the end of the year.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think they will be there or there abouts because of the standard of player, the standard of person in that group. there’s a lot of really, really good players there.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe last few years probably didn’t go to plan but those players haven’t turned bad or anything overnight so there’s plenty there to be optimistic about.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hannon was also delighted to see performance psychologist Caroline Currid resume her role with Limerick for 2026.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was delighted when I saw she was back. Her record speaks for itself. When she’s been there with Limerick, we’ve won and when she hasn’t been there, we haven’t won. It’s an amazing record to have and she’ll bring another level of confidence into the group,\u201d Hannon said.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in Division 3 of the Allianz Football League, Limerick recorded a dramatic 1-15 to 1-14 victory over Wexford at Mick Neville Park in Rathkeale yesterday.<\/p>\n

Limerick, who trailed by four points in injury time, claimed the two precious points on offer thanks to a last gasp goal from Peter Nash.<\/p>\n

In Division 1B of the Centre Camogie League, Limerick defeated Down 0-12 to 0-10.<\/p>\n
