{"id":302739,"date":"2026-02-17T15:59:13","date_gmt":"2026-02-17T15:59:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/302739\/"},"modified":"2026-02-17T15:59:13","modified_gmt":"2026-02-17T15:59:13","slug":"joe-brolly-appointed-manager-of-mayo-senior-club-side","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/302739\/","title":{"rendered":"Joe Brolly appointed manager of Mayo Senior club side"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of last season\u2019s beaten county finalists have confirmed that Joe Brolly will take over as charge of their senior team.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In a social media post issued last night, it has been confirmed that Joe Brolly is set to take over as manager of the Knockmore Ladies team.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayonews.ie\/news\/gaa\/2016349\/confirmed-groups-for-the-2026-mayo-senior-intermediate-and-junior-championships.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/READ_MORE_button_(77)-1771338593559.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"428\" height=\"241\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Derry native has been involved in the North\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayonews.ie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Mayo<\/a> club in recent years at a coaching level, in which he was part of Ray Dempsey\u2019s senior men\u2019s team.<\/p>\n<p>Brolly will be looking to guide the saffron and blue back to the top of the pile in the ladies circuit, with the club last tasting Championship glory in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>In the last two years, Knockmore have reached the County final, where they lost out to Westport.<\/p>\n<p>Brolly takes over from Stephen Sweeney, who led the club to the 2025 decider.<\/p>\n<p>The Knockmore GAA club announced the news via a social media post last night:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Following a meeting this evening, the Knockmore LGFA Chairperson, Patricia Dempsey, is happy to announce that Joe Brolly has been appointed as the Knockmore LGFA Senior Manager.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Joe brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge and the club is extremely excited at this appointment.
