\n\tBruce Springsteen<\/a> and the E Street Band are bringing their politically charged Land of Hope and Dreams tour to North America in the spring for a run of arena and stadium dates. It kicks off March 31 in Minneapolis at the Target Center, and wraps up May 27 at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. Ticket sales start on Friday.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe are living through dark, disturbing and dangerous times, but do not despair \u2014 the cavalry is coming!\u201d Springsteen says in a statement. \u201cBruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will be taking the stage this spring from Minneapolis to California to Texas to Washington, D.C. for the Land of Hope And Dreams American Tour. We will be rocking your town in celebration and in defense of America \u2014 American democracy, American freedom, our American Constitution and our sacred American dream \u2014 all of which are under attack by our wannabe king and his rogue government in Washington, D.C. Everyone, regardless of where you stand or what you believe in, is welcome \u2014 so come on out and join the United Free Republic of E Street Nation for an American spring of Rock \u2018n\u2019 Rebellion! I\u2019ll see you there!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tLast summer, Springsteen and the E Street Band played stadiums in Europe on the initial leg of the Land of Hope and Dreams Tour. \u201cThe mighty E Street Band is here tonight to call upon the righteous power of art, of music, of rock & roll, in dangerous times,\u201d he told the crowd on opening night.<\/a> \u201cIn my home, the America I love, the America I\u2019ve written about, and has been a beacon of hope and liberty for 250 years, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous administration. Tonight, we ask all who believe in democracy and the best of our American experience to rise with us, raise your voices against the authoritarianism, and let freedom ring. This is \u2018Land of Hope and Dreams.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThis took place before Donald Trump flooded Minneapolis with ICE officers, resulting in the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. Springsteen responded to the tragedies with the protest song \u201cStreets of Minneapolis,\u201d<\/a> which he performed Jan. 30 during a surprise appearance at Tom Morello\u2019s A Concert of Solidarity & Resistance to Defend Minnesota!<\/a> at the Minneapolis club First Avenue.<\/p>\n

\n\tEarlier that month, Springsteen made a guest appearance at the annual Light of Days benefit concert. \u201cRight now we are living through incredibly critical times,\u201d he said that night.<\/a> \u201cThe United States, the ideals and the value for which it stood for the past 250 years, is being tested like it has never been in modern times. Those values and those ideals have never been as endangered as they are right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIf you believe in the power of law and that no one stands above it,\u201d he continued, \u201cif you stand against heavily-armed masked federal troops invading an American city, using gestapo tactics against our fellow citizens, if you believe you don\u2019t deserve to be murdered for exercising your American right to protest, then send a message to this president, as the mayor of the city said: ICE should get the fuck out of Minneapolis.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIf Springsteen sticks to roughly the same set as Europe last summer, expect plenty of politically-themed songs like \u201cRainmaker,\u201d \u201cLong Walk Home,\u201d and Bob Dylan\u2019s \u201cChimes of Freedom.\u201d It\u2019s also a near-certainty he\u2019ll play \u201cStreets of Minneapolis\u201d as well. \u00a0The routing itself sends a message by beginning in Minneapolis and wrapping up near Trump\u2019s backyard in D.C.<\/p>\n
