<\/p>\nSony Electronics released the new WF-1000XM6 truly wireless earbuds last week, and they\u2019re getting a lot of attention. They offer tons of improvements over their predecessor, notably a 25% reduction in noise thanks to the next generation HD noise canceling processor QN3e, integrated processor V2, adaptive noise canceling optimizer, and four microphones on each earbud.<\/p>\n
You get a bone conduction sensor, two microphones for AI beamforming, and AI noise reduction to isolate voices from background noise. The four microphones is an increase from just three in last year\u2019s model. This is combined with the adaptive noise canceling optimizer and the same integrated processor V2 that was in the predecessor. The optimizer analyzes external noise and wearing conditions in real time to ensure the best possible noise cancelling experience.<\/p>\n

For optimal sound quality, you get two powerful processors, enhanced DAC amplifier performance powered by the QN3e processor, and 32-bit processing (compared to 24-bit on the previous model), enabled with the Integrated Processor V2. The newly developed driver unit has a unique design with a soft edge to produce deep, immersive bass, says Sony, and lightweight, rigid dome for clear and extended high frequencies. The WF-1000XM6 also features Hi-Res Audio Wireless, DSEE Extreme,\u00a0360 Reality Audio compatibility, a 10 Band EQ customizable in the Sony | Sound Connect app, headtracking, and Background Music Effect. There\u2019s also improved Bluetooth connectivity with an antenna that is 1.5 times larger than the previous model.<\/p>\n
The buds have also been redesigned to better reduce sound that can leak in through gaps between the ear tips and your ear canal, adapting to each wearer\u2019s unique shape and fit. They come with Sony\u2019s Noise Isolation Earbud tips in four sizes. Overall, the body is 11% slimmer to help minimize interference and ensure they are comfortable to wear, even for long periods. A new ventilation structure increases airflow within the device as well, reducing internal noises like footsteps and chewing sounds. This allows you to enjoy content comfortably in a wide range of situations.<\/p>\n
These earbuds also work with Gemini so you can get hands-free assistance by using a \u201cHey Google\u201d command and proceeding with natural language conversations. For calls, there are two microphones and a bone conduction sensor on each side. The WF-1000XM6 uses an advanced AI beamforming noise-reduction algorithm to capture your voice with precision. Even in noisy environments or when surrounded by other voices, it intelligently isolates speech, ensuring the person you are speaking to hears you clearly, says Sony.<\/p>\n

You get all the same features as the previous generation model, including scene-based listening with Auto Play, Adaptive Sound Control, Quick Access, and, as noted, voice assistance. Also worth noting is that Sony says the case opens more easily, even with one hand, and the earbuds are easier to pick up. The WF-1000XM6 are also ready for LE Audio, a next generation Bluetooth\u00a0audio that enables ultra-low latency, making them ideal for gaming.<\/p>\n
When it comes to battery life, there\u2019s up to eight hours of listening on a single charge and up to 24 hours with the charging case. Qi technology offers easy wireless charging.<\/p>\n
They come in Black or Platinum Silver and sell in Canada for $430.<\/p>\n
