A man in his 20s and a female pedestrian have been injured following a hit-and-run in Co Cavan on Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n
The incident occurred on L1513 Drumlark in Loreto Wood shortly after 6.45pm.<\/p>\n
The collision involved a vehicle and a female pedestrian, aged in her 20s.<\/p>\n
She was taken to Cavan General Hospital for treatment for non life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n
The male driver of the vehicle left the scene on foot.<\/p>\n
The male passenger, aged in his 20s, was seriously injured, and was transferred to Cavan General Hospital where he remains in critical condition.<\/p>\n
Garda Forensic Collision Investigators have been contacted to attend the scene. The road is currently closed in both directions and local diversions are in place.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision and any road users or pedestrians who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were in the area between 6.30pm and 7pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating garda\u00ed.<\/p>\n
