Wednesday’s racing at Punchestown has been given the green light following this morning\u2019s inspection, while Clonmel’s Friday card faces an inspection tomorrow morning.<\/p>\n

A Status Yellow wind warning is in effect for Dublin until 1pm<\/a>, while The National Directorate for Fire and Emergency Management (NDFEM) has said the entire country is vulnerable to flooding over the next 24 hours.<\/p>\n

However following a course inspection this morning, the Punchestown racecard scheduled for today goes ahead, with the first race due off at 1.40pm.<\/p>\n

“We had a dry day yesterday and a dry, windy night last night with no rain developing yet,” Brendan Sheridan, IHRB Clerk of the course said.<\/p>\n

“We have fresh ground for today and the ground has come back a bit to soft, soft to heavy in places.<\/p>\n

“According to Met \u00c9ireann this morning, there is the possibility of 5-10mm of rain here through today and it is set to be a breezy day.”<\/p>\n

It remains to be seen whether Clonmel’s rescheduled jumps card on Friday will be able to proceed.<\/p>\n

Following a further 5mm of rain since entries closed on Monday, parts of the track remain unfit for racing due to waterlogging.<\/p>\n
