Much like when CBS\u00a0announced<\/a>\u00a0the cancellation of The\u00a0Late Show With Stephen Colbert,\u00a0late-night hosts are rallying together to show their support for Jimmy Kimmel, whose show was\u00a0suspended \u201cindefinitely\u201d<\/a>\u00a0by ABC on September 17. Colbert and Seth Meyers<\/a> both released clips early online, acknowledging Kimmel\u2019s suspension just as the president is calling for the cancellation of Meyers\u2019s and Jimmy Fallon\u2019s shows next. \u201cThat leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!!!\u201d Trump wrote<\/a> on Truth Social yesterday evening.<\/p>\n Below, here\u2019s how late-night hosts reacted to Kimmel\u2019s suspension, including Meyers<\/a>, Colbert<\/a>, Jon Stewart<\/a>, Fallon<\/a>, and more as the evening goes on.<\/p>\n Meyers began his \u201cCloser Look\u201d segment by remembering job security. \u201cCompletely unrelated, I just want to say before we get started here that I\u2019ve always admired and respected Trump,\u201d he stated as the audience laughed. \u201cIf you\u2019ve ever seen me say anything negative about him, that\u2019s just A.I.\u201d Towards the end of the segment, Meyers honored his friend and colleague Kimmel as he expressed the importance of free speech. \u201cIt is a privilege and an honor to call Jimmy Kimmel my friend, in the same way that it\u2019s a privilege and honor to do this show every night,\u201d he explained. \u201cI wake up every day, and I count my blessings that I live in a country that at least purports to value freedom of speech. We\u2019re going to keep doing our show the way we\u2019ve always done it with enthusiasm and integrity.\u201d Meyers was then interrupted by a farting sound.<\/p>\n Colbert transformed into Lumiere to shed light on Kimmel\u2019s suspension as he sang a new song, \u201cShut Your Trap\u201d to the tune of \u201cBe Our Guest.\u201d \u201cDon\u2019t insult our great dictator, or he\u2019ll hit you with this turd,\u201d a MAGA Lumiere sings as he points to a picture of FCC Chairman Brendan Carr. Earlier the same day, he released a short clip<\/a> from tonight\u2019s show early, in which he quotes Carr, who encouraged people to \u201cpush back\u201d on Disney programming that \u201cfalls short of community values.\u201d \u201cYou know what my community values are, Buster? Freedom of speech,\u201d Colbert shouted. \u201cOr, as Alexander Hamilton called it, \u2018Hakuna Matata.\u2019\u201d He loves his Disney references. Later this evening, Colbert will be joined by guests Jake Tapper and David Remnick.<\/p>\n Fallon, after clarifying with his father that the other Jimmy was suspended, not him, tells his crowd that he doesn\u2019t know what is going on, but he knows that his friend Kimmel is \u201ca decent, funny, and loving guy\u201d and he hopes he comes back. The Tonight Show host promises to cover Trump\u2019s visit to the U.K. like he normally would, which, for tonight, means that there was a voice-over for whenever Fallon tried to mention Jeffrey Epstein or added in that Trump looked \u201chandsome.\u201d<\/p>\n Stewart, who subbed in an extra night this week, went with a more playful route to talk about the Kimmel suspension. Throughout the opening segment, he shushed the audience when they laughed a little too loudly at Trump. He pointed out the hypocrisy of misinformation and the \u201ccrass\u201d jokes about political violence from conservative news outlets before leading the Daily Show correspondents into a song. \u201cOh, Donald.
