A man who was allegedly seriously assaulted in Monaghan town last January has died.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It\u2019s understood Declan Wallace was found dead at his home in Ballybay yesterday morning.<\/p>\n
\nIt\u2019s not yet known how Mr Wallace had died. The Castleblayney native who was aged in his 40s was left in a coma following the aftermath of an alleged serious assault on him on the North Rd in Monaghan 13 months ago.<\/p>\n
Three people are currently before the courts in relation to the alleged assault that involved a steel baseball bat.<\/p>\n
Funeral arrangements have not been announced as of yet for the father of one<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed say they were alerted following the discovery of a body of a male (40s) at a residential property in Ballybay, Co Monaghan\u00a0 on the 17th February.<\/p>\n
The local Coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination arranged.
