A Status Yellow thunderstorm warning for counties Clare, Kerry, Limerick and Galway has expired.<\/p>\n
It came into effect at 7.45am and expired at 11am.<\/p>\n
Met \u00c9ireann had warned of thundery downpours with the possibility of spot flooding, lightning damage and difficult travelling.<\/p>\n
The alert had been issued earlier for counties Clare, Galway, Mayo and Sligo.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, there will be outbreaks of rain for many parts of the country today. Rain will clear eastwards this morning with sunny spells and scattered showers following behind.<\/p>\n
The forecaster said showers will be heavy and blustery, turning more persistent for a time in the late morning and early afternoon.<\/p>\n
Cloud will thicken from the southwest through the afternoon with outbreaks of rain and drizzle in Munster and Connacht later.<\/p>\n
