Rumors that Prince Harry<\/a> tried to contact Prince William through a go\u2011between are receiving a sharp response from inside the palace. Royal author Omid Scobie has claimed that Harry reached out to his brother in 2023 using an \u201cintermediary,\u201d a mutual friend, in the hope of opening the door to a conversation, later reiterating the claims while promoting his book \u201cEndgame.\u201d However, sources now tell a different story.<\/p>\n

Prince Harry\u2019s olive branch to Prince William is \u2018simply not true,\u2019 says source<\/p>\n

Omid Scobie told Us Weekly<\/a> that Prince Harry wanted some kind of contact<\/a> with Prince William, possibly with a third person present, but nothing came of it. According to Scobie, \u201cIt didn\u2019t happen,\u201d and a \u201cstone wall is still up\u201d between the brothers. He had added, \u201cUnless the attitudes change on both sides, we\u2019re never going to find any way to resolution.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, William\u2019s sources reportedly reject the idea that Harry ever sent a mediator to his elder brother, with one palace insider telling Rob Shuter<\/a>, \u201cThere was no mediator. No secret olive branch. It\u2019s simply not true.\u201d Meanwhile, another source remarked, \u201cHarry is not shy. If he can get Oprah on the phone, he can call his brother directly.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the same time, royal aides see a pattern with Scobie. A royal source told Shuter, \u201cOmid knows exactly how to generate headlines,\u201d adding, \u201cAnd he\u2019s about as shy as Harry \u2014 which is to say, not at all.\u201d They noted, \u201cWhen a book is coming from someone like him, stories start appearing.\u201d The insider further anticipated, \u201cExpect more dramatic retellings as the release date gets closer,\u201d as Scobie and those close to Harry continue insisting that he tried to reach out and hit a wall.<\/p>\n

William and Harry lost contact when the latter and Meghan Markle<\/a> stepped down as senior working royals in 2020, moving to California soon after. Besides, Harry\u2019s memoir \u201cSpare\u201d detailed clashes within the royal family.
