Weeks after announcing that her show was coming to an end, Kelly Clarkson is opening up about her decision to quit \u201cThe Kelly Clarkson Show.\u201d<\/p>\n
During an appearance on \u201cToday,\u201d Clarkson noted that her decision was based on her family.<\/p>\n
Referencing her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock\u2019s death, she said, \u201cI think everybody probably gets the timing. Our family life, the dynamic changed a bit, and it has changed for a minute now.\u201d<\/p>\n
Clarkson and Blackstock share two kids together.<\/p>\n
She noted, \u201cYou got kids, we\u2019ve all got kids, and it\u2019s one of those things when you kind of start seeing life as how precious it is. I was like, \u2018I know everybody thinks she\u2019s, like, quitting.\u2019 I\u2019m like, \u2018I still have other jobs, so I\u2019m still doing stuff.\u2019 There\u2019s just too much on the plate, so I was like, \u2018You know what? It\u2019s time to pull back.’\u201d<\/p>\n
Aside from \u201cThe Kelly Clarkson Show,\u201d Kelly is also a judge on \u201cThe Voice.\u201d<\/p>\n
Raving about \u201cThe Kelly Clarkson Show\u201d cast and crew, Clarkson admitted, \u201cThat was a really hard thing for me, but an easy decision as a mama.\u201d<\/p>\n
Clarkson has been hosting \u201cThe Kelly Clarkson Show\u201d for seven years.<\/p>\n
Earlier this month, Clarkson announced that she was leaving in a statement to the cast and crew.<\/p>\n
Kelly wrote, “I have been extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people at \u2018The Kelly Clarkson Show,\u2019 both in Los Angeles and New York. There have been so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons. I am forever grateful and honored to have worked alongside the greatest band and crew you could hope for, all the talent and inspiring people who have shared their time and lives with us, all the fans who have supported our show, and to NBC for always being such a supportive and incredible partner.\u201d<\/p>\n
The show was moved from Los Angeles to New York in 2023.<\/p>\n
She continued, \u201cBecause of all of that, this was not an easy decision, but this season will be my last hosting \u2018The Kelly Clarkson Show.\u2019 Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives.\u201d<\/p>\n
Clarkson emphasized, \u201cThis isn\u2019t goodbye. I\u2019ll still be making music, playing shows here and there and you may catch me on \u2018The Voice\u2019 from time to time\u2026 You never know where I might show up next.
