St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson stressed the club would be in control of Killian Phillips’ future this summer after triggering a one-year contract extension.<\/p>\n
The Republic of Ireland international could yet move on in the close season but Saints will be able to command a fee that could rise if several interested parties make their moves.<\/p>\n
Speaking ahead of Saturday night\u2019s visit of Motherwell, Robinson said: “There\u2019s been a lot of interest in Killian, a lot of people talking about Killian.<\/p>\n
“Whenever we do lose him, it\u2019ll be certainly on our terms.<\/p>\n
“I\u2019d be foolish to say that I\u2019m not expecting that. Him and Miguel Freckleton have attracted a lot of attention over the last few weeks, especially in and around the window.<\/p>\n
“But we\u2019ll do it on our terms. We certainly don\u2019t want any of them to leave. But again, it shows that the quality that we\u2019ve brought in, people are looking at them.<\/p>\n
“And on the whole, it\u2019s something that the club\u2019s about \u2013 bringing people in, they move on to bigger and better things.<\/p>\n
“But unlike other years, perhaps we\u2019re in control of how that happens and for how much that happens.”<\/p>\n
Phillips has three Irish caps, the most recent of which game in September’s 2-1 defeat to Armenia in Yerevan.<\/p>\n
