James Gunn<\/a> has debunked a rumor related to Batman<\/a>, Robert Pattinson<\/a>, and the DCU<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Pattinson played Bruce Wayne in 2022\u2019s The Batman<\/a>, which was directed by Matt Reeves. Following the spin-off show focusing on Colin Farrell\u2019s The Penguin, Pattinson is now set to reprise his Dark Knight role in The Batman: Part II<\/a>. That movie is currently scheduled to be released in 2027.<\/p>\n

Plans are underway for Batman\u2019s official introduction into Gunn and Peter Safran\u2019s DCU. Gunn has repeatedly stated that Pattinson will not be the DCU\u2019s Batman, but who will actually play the Caped Crusader remains unclear at this time. It\u2019s also not clear when Batman will officially make his DCU debut; although, it is known that a The Brave and the Bold<\/a> movie focused on Bruce Wayne and Damien Wayne is in the works.<\/p>\n

What did James Gunn say about Batman and the DCU?<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, scooper Daniel Richtman allegedly reported on some matters regarding Reeves\u2019 The Batman 3<\/a> and the DCU. The Direct previously attributed a quote to Richtman that says, \u201cOh, I am told Brave and the Bold is not coming for years. Gunn is pushing to get\u00a0The Batman 3\u00a0out faster he wants that trilogy over he wants to move on. Doesn\u2019t want two Batmans.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Direct, however, appears to have now taken that article down, as the story previously titled \u201cThe Batman 3 Finally Gets a Positive Update\u201d now redirects<\/a> to a January article titled \u201cThe Batman 3\u2019s Villain Actor May Have Just Been Revealed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nonetheless, Gunn was asked about the matter on Threads<\/a>. When asked if there was any truth to the report, the Superman director said, \u201cThat\u2019s incorrect. Well I mean I don\u2019t know if it\u2019s incorrect that DPK was told that, but the information is incorrect.\u201d<\/p>\n

What that means for the future is still a bit unclear, as neither The Brave and the Bold nor The Batman 3 has a release date at this time, meaning it\u2019s unclear how long it will be before Dark Knight fans get to see these projects.<\/p>\n

Warner Bros. Pictures<\/a> and DC Studios<\/a>\u2019 The Batman: Part II arrives on October 1, 2027.<\/p>\n
