A multi-agency search operation had been launched\"Crews<\/p>\n

The search of the waters around Galway, which opened after reports of a woman going into the River Corrib, has ended after the discovery of a body.<\/p>\n

Oranmore Maree Coastal Search Unit boat and drone crews resumed the search on Friday morning 20 February after reports of a person entering the water in the River Corrib on Wednesday February.<\/p>\n

Oranmore Maree Coastal Search Unit worked alongside Rescue 115, Irish Coast Guard – Costelloe Bay and An Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na Galway and the RNLI, Galway Lifeboat Station, Cleggan Coast Guard.<\/p>\n

However, Oranmore Maree Coastal Search Unit reported around 7pm on Friday 20 February that the casualty had been located.<\/p>\n

“A sincere thanks to everyone who attended the search today. Thankfully the missing casualty was discovered by our Boat crew at approximately 2pm.<\/p>\n

“May she Rest in Peace.<\/p>\n

“A sincere thanks to OMCSU Zone Leaders, Base, Drone and Boat teams, and indeed all search agencies involved.<\/p>\n

“An Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na Galway RNLI, Galway Lifeboat Station Rescue 115 Galway Civil Defence<\/p>\n

“Particular mention to Cleggan Coast Guard Irish Coast Guard – Costelloe Bay who were involved with the recovery.”<\/p>\n
