Two people have died and two are critically injured in a multi-vehicle collision on the outskirts of Waterford city.<\/p>\n
The collision occurred around midday on the Tramore Road in Waterford.<\/p>\n
Emergency services are currently responding to the incident, and garda\u00ed have put several traffic diversions in place close to the location as the road is currently closed.<\/p>\n
Ambulance crews, fire services and garda\u00ed were on the scene within minutes of the collision occurring.<\/p>\n
It is understood that the two people who have been critically injured in the collision have been brought to University Hospital Waterford (UHW).<\/p>\n
Drivers are being advised by gardai to avoid the Ballyksinsella Crossroads\/ Pickardstown Cross areas where possible and to follow all diversion signage currently in place.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed are expected to provide updates as the situation develops, and they are advising motorists to plan alternative routes and allow additional travel time while the closure remains in effect.<\/p>\n
In a statement garda\u00ed said that both they and emergency services are at the scene of a road traffic collision at Pickardstown, Tramore, Co Waterford this afternoon.<\/p>\n
