Kate Middleton has made her first public appearance since the arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor (formerly Prince Andrew) on suspicion of misconduct in public office<\/a>. She made a surprise appearance at the Guinness Six Nations 2026 match between England and Ireland at Allianz Stadium in London, attending in her capacity as Patron of the Rugby Football Union.<\/p>\n

William and Kate\u2019s three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, were on half-term break last week, and the royal couple carried out no public engagements during that time. In fact, the Wales family reportedly were at their home Anmer Hall at Sandringham<\/a> at the time of Mountbatten-Windsor\u2019s arrest; their house is six miles away from Wood Farm<\/a>, where the disgraced former prince has been living. (Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing.) Today, then, marks her first public appearance in the wake of Andrew\u2019s arrest.<\/p>\n

Despite the spectacle surrounding Andrew\u2019s arrest\u2014he\u2019s the first royal in modern history to be arrested<\/a>\u2014it has been business as normal for the remaining working members of the British royal family. On Thursday, King Charles attended the opening of London Fashion Week<\/a>, while Queen Camilla<\/a> and Princess Anne<\/a> carried out their pre-planned engagements. \u201cThe law must take its course,\u201d King Charles said in a statement about his younger brother.<\/a> \u201cAs this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter. Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all.\u201d<\/p>\n

In early February, the Waleses made their first statement<\/a> on the scandal surrounding convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. \u201cI can confirm The Prince and Princess have been deeply concerned by the continuing revelations,\u201d their spokesperson said. \u201cTheir thoughts remain focused on the victims.\u201d<\/p>\n
