Jack Crowley made a statement return to his starting duties in an Ireland shirt as Andy Farrell’s men routed England in the Six Nations.<\/p>\n

Crowley, who had to settle for a bench role in Ireland’s opening two matches, had been controversially overlooked in the eyes of some supporters.<\/p>\n

However, his match-winning cameo at home to Italy earned his way back into the number 10 shirt, and alongside the hugely impressive Jamison Gibson-Park, Crowley looked at his best.<\/p>\n

The Cork native has well and truly reclaimed top status from Sam Prendergast, who was dropped from the matchday squad altogether.<\/p>\n

It was Ciar\u00e1n Frawley who provided a second kicking option late in the contest on a day where Crowley notched up an impressive 17 points.<\/p>\n

His place-kicking, often maligned as the weakness in his game, was back to its best, having struck three penalties and four conversions on the day.<\/p>\n

Unseen moment shows Jack Crowley driving Ireland standards<\/p>\n

It was one unseen moment from Crowley however, which really at a time where Ireland had already seized the initiative.<\/p>\n

It was when Crowley’s Munster clubmate, Ireland loosehead Jeremy Loughman, coughed up possession after a forward pass.<\/p>\n

Ireland were in a healthy position with the clock ticking away when Loughman opted to try and offload the ball to James Ryan instead of retaining possession in contact.<\/p>\n

His resulting pass went forward and Ireland were penalised.<\/p>\n

Crowley appeared keen to ensure that standards did not drop despite Ireland’s advantage, taking issue with Loughman’s risky play.<\/p>\n

The Number 10 appeared to have a go at his teammate, giving him some stern words.<\/p>\n

It was a familiar sight, with Johnny Sexton and Ronan O’Gara having been guilty of the same behaviour in their playing days, always pushing the standards of those around them.<\/p>\n

It was a brilliant outing for Crowley in front of his family too, who were in attendance at the London venue.<\/p>\n

It was a good day at the office for Loughman too, who arguably played his best game<\/a> to date in an Ireland shirt.<\/p>\n
