And also, she just was an independent woman and people didn\u2019t like that. They wanted\u00a0John\u00a0for themselves and she was an easy target. And I think it\u2019s very meaningful for me to be able to tell her story.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tSawai also shared what her favorite aspect of Ono, now 93, is: \u201cJust how bold she is. Oh my God, I love her. She\u2019s so cool.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAs <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/feature\/the-beatles-movies-sam-mendes-news-updates-1236600881\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">previously announced<\/a>, four separate theatrical biopics are launching concurrently from the Oscar-winning Mendes in April 2028. The quartet of lads cast to portray each member of the iconic British band are: Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Joseph Quinn\u00a0as George Harrison, Barry Keoghan\u00a0as Ringo Starr and\u00a0Harris Dickinson\u00a0as Lennon. In addition to Sawai, Mia McKenna-Bruce,\u00a0Saoirse Ronan\u00a0and\u00a0Aimee Lou Wood\u00a0are <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/10\/the-beatles-movies-cast-anna-sawai-aimee-lou-wood-more-1236603433\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">rounding out the cast<\/a> of important women in the musicians\u2019 lives.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe project marks the first time that Apple Corps Ltd. and <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/the-beatles\/\" id=\"auto-tag_the-beatles\" data-tag=\"the-beatles\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Beatles<\/a> \u2014 McCartney, Starr and the families of the late Lennon and Harrison \u2014 have granted full life story and music rights for a scripted film.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Anna Sawai is previewing her role as Yoko Ono in filmmaker Sam Mendes\u2018 quartet of Beatles films.
