Paramount Pictures Ireland, in association with Galway-based broadcaster TG4 and C\u00fala4, have this week announced that The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants will be available through the Irish language in cinemas across the country this March to celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge.<\/p>\n

Based on the highly acclaimed Nickelodeon TV series, The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants, from Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Movies, in association with Domain Entertainment and MRC, sees SpongeBob and his Bikini Bottom friends set sail in their biggest, all-new cinematic event The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants.<\/p>\n

Desperate to be a big guy, SpongeBob sets out to prove his bravery to Mr Krabs by following The Flying Dutchman \u2013 a mysterious swashbuckling ghost pirate \u2013 on a seafaring comedy-adventure that takes him to the deepest depths of the deep sea, where no Sponge has gone before.<\/p>\n

The movie, which has already grossed over $140m globally, stars Tom Kenny, Clancy Brown, Rodger Bumpass, Bill Fagerbakke, Carolyn Lawrence, Mr. Lawrence, George Lopez, Isis \u201cIce Spice\u201d Gaston, Arturo Castro, Sherry Cola with Regina Hall and Mark Hamill.<\/p>\n

It is produced by Lisa Stewart, p.g.a., Pam Brady and, Aaron Dem. Based on the series \u201cSpongeBob SquarePants\u201d created by Stephen Hillenburg. The story is by Marc Ceccarelli & Kaz and Pam Brady with the screenplay by Pam Brady and Matt Lieberman. The film is directed by Derek Drymon.<\/p>\n

Dubbing production has now been completed in Dublin on this local project by Macalla Teoranta, the team who dub the popular SpongeBob SquarePants TV series that is broadcast on TG4\/C\u00fala4. Macalla Teo is a leading Irish-language dubbing studio, renowned for its work on major international titles and Children’s content.<\/p>\n

Karina Feirt\u00e9ar, C\u00fala4 Channel Manager, said: “For more than 25 years, TG4 and C\u00fala4 have been the Irish home of SpongeBob SquarePants, one of our most popular and best loved programmes for young audiences. Many people in Ireland now associate SpongeBob with the Irish language, and An Scann\u00e1n SpongeBob: C\u00e1 bhfuil SquarePants? perfectly reflects C\u00fala4\u2019s mission to bring fun, high-quality entertainment to young people through Irish.”<\/p>\n

Speaking about the unique project, Niamh McCaul the General Manager of Paramount Pictures in Ireland added: \u201cWe are delighted to have this opportunity to work with TG4 and release The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants in our national language.
