In a move that makes you think, \u201cWait, how hasn\u2019t that happened yet?\u201d, Winona Ryder will join season three of Netflix\u2019s Wednesday. The streamer shared the news this morning that Ryder will join the cast as \u201cTabitha\u201d, along with the confirmation that the series is back in production. However, it\u2019s a role that seems poised to be bigger than one of the last season\u2019s big guest stars, Lady Gaga<\/a>. Ryder\u2019s character will appear in multiple episodes of the third season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Though this is Ryder\u2019s first time acting on screen with the Addamses, a Netflix series from Tim Burton is a pretty intuitive place for her to be. Ryder just wrapped up nearly a decade of starring in Netflix\u2019s one-time flagship series, Stranger Things. She also appeared in Burton\u2019s classic Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands, reuniting with him and working with Wednesday star Jenna Ortega on 2024\u2019s legacy sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. Ryder and Ortega were constantly talking about how much they enjoyed working together while promoting the movie, with Ortega saying (via People<\/a>), \u201cThe way Winona and I got along was quite weird. It was like we were reading each other\u2019s minds a little bit.\u201d Ryder also told the Los Angeles Times<\/a> that she almost cried when Ortega referenced Soviet director Mikhail Kalatozov on set.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hopefully they can tap into that same energy at Wednesday, which is now in production in Dublin. Chris Sarandon, Noah Taylor, Oscar Morgan, and Kennedy Moyer were also confirmed today to join the cast, along with the previously announced Eva Green as Morticia\u2019s sister Ophelia.
