Weather bosses forecast a ‘rather cloudy and damp start’ to the day and said there would be ‘patchy drizzle in places’<\/p>\n

Heavy rain is on the way as Met \u00c9ireann<\/a> warns the downpours will become more “persistent” throughout the day.<\/p>\n

Weather<\/a> bosses forecast a “rather cloudy and damp start” to the day and said there would be “patchy drizzle in places”.<\/p>\n

They said temperatures will reach a maximum of 13C .<\/p>\n

A meteorologist said: “A rather cloudy and damp start with some patchy drizzle in places. Outbreaks of rain will develop across the west and southwest later this morning, gradually turning more persistent and spreading further inland this afternoon.<\/p>\n

“Staying mostly dry further east apart from the odd spot of drizzle with southerly breezes.<\/p>\n

“Quite mild today with highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees.”<\/p>\n

Met Eireann said most of the country can expect rain<\/a> this evening but said the east will remain dry.<\/p>\n

They said: “Cloudy with rain generally although staying dry in the east. The rain will become more widespread later in the night however with drizzle developing in the east and south too.<\/p>\n

“Mist and fog patches will form overnight and it’ll be rather mild too with lowest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees with southerly breezes.”<\/p>\n
