<\/p>\nAfter the premiere of Bandwaale on Amazon Prime Video, actor Shalini Pandey sat down with Galatta India for a candid conversation that moved beyond her upcoming show and into her personal travel experiences. In a travel-themed segment during the interview, Pandey spoke about her approach to vacations, solo trips and how travel has influenced both her personality and her craft.<\/p>\n

Pandey admits she prefers flexibility over fixed itineraries. \u201cI do basic bookings and all you have to do. I don\u2019t want to be homeless,\u201d she said with a laugh. \u201cBut after that I am on the go. I want to explore. I\u2019m not a planner, planner for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n
A Vacation Depends on the Mood<\/p>\n
When asked about her ideal getaway, the actor said it changes with what she needs at that point in time. \u201cThere are times that I really want to go on a trip, but I don\u2019t want to be disturbed at all. I want to be by the sea and just have quiet time,\u201d she shared, adding that after intense work schedules and constant interaction, solitude becomes necessary.<\/p>\n
At other times, she seeks the opposite. \u201cThere are days when I want to go and talk to strangers. I love listening to stories. I love interacting with different people,\u201d she said. Exploring cities, understanding culture and tasting local food are equally important to her.<\/p>\n
Beach, mountains or cities? \u201cEverything,\u201d she replied simply.<\/p>\n
How Solo Travel Changed Her<\/p>\n
Pandey credits her first solo trip as a turning point. \u201cUnless you do that one solo trip, you don\u2019t know what you really like. Can you be with yourself? Do you like being with yourself?\u201d she reflected.<\/p>\n
According to her, travelling alone strips away compromise. \u201cWhen you\u2019re with someone, everything is mutual. But when you do that one solo trip, that\u2019s when you realise who you exactly are.\u201d<\/p>\n
She describes the experience as life changing. \u201cFeeling different, I don\u2019t know. But feeling like I know myself better, and I like myself better \u2014 that way I have. Travel is life changing actually.\u201d<\/p>\n
Unforgettable Encounters<\/p>\n
One of her most memorable travel moments came from meeting strangers in a culturally unfamiliar place. Seeing a town through the eyes of locals left a lasting impact. \u201cWhen you see it through their eyes, it\u2019s a very different experience. And the love and warmth they gave me \u2014 I will never forget that,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Interestingly, Pandey is not someone who collects souvenirs. Nor does she overpack. \u201cI\u2019m a very light traveller,\u201d she noted. For Pandey, travel feeds directly into her work. \u201cIt\u2019s life. You\u2019re taking in from life. And my job is to go and play a character and make it look real,\u201d she explained. \u201cSo I do think I take a lot from real life \u2014 and that means a lot from travel.\u201d<\/p>\n
Street Food, Luxury and Italy\u2019s Villages<\/p>\n
When it comes to food, she follows instinct rather than caution. \u201cI go anywhere. Local food,\u201d she said, though she added that she enjoys luxury experiences too, depending on her mood. One destination that stands out for its cuisine is Italy. \u201cI went to the smallest villages of Italy and the food that I\u2019ve had has been life changing,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Unlike many travellers, Pandey doesn\u2019t document everything. \u201cI am not on phone at all. If someone is travelling with me, they click me. But if I\u2019m travelling alone, there\u2019ll be no pictures sometimes,\u201d she revealed.<\/p>\n
She does, however, click photographs of animals \u2014 many of which never make it to social media. \u201cYou can\u2019t post everything,\u201d she concluded.<\/p>\n
Speaking of Bandwaale, it started streaming on Amazon Prime Video from February 12, 2026.<\/p>\n
