Have produced the likes of IT, The Ring, and Doctor Sleep, in addition to working on both of Zach Cregger\u2018s previous films, Barbarian and Weapons, it\u2019s safe to say Roy Lee knows a thing or two about horror movies.<\/p>\n

Speaking with\u00a0Geek Tyrant<\/a>, Lee shared some insight about Cregger\u2019s upcoming take on Resident Evil.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s like a roller coaster ride of nonstop action, of just showing a point of view of a character and an original story in the world of Raccoon City, where it\u2019s like the experience of watching the movie is similar to the experience you would get playing the game, is what Zach is trying to do,\u201d the producer explains.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s definitely spent a lot of time prepping various shots that will impress the audience in ways they\u2019ve not seen things before,\u201d Lee adds.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you think about the progression of Zach\u2019s movies, it went from a $4 million movie to a $38 million movie to now like an $80-plus million dollar movie, and each time the money\u2019s going on screen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Directed by Cregger from a script he co-wrote with Shay Hatten (John Wick: Chapters 3 and 4), Resident Evil opens in theaters on\u00a0 September 18 via Sony.<\/p>\n

Cregger previously stated<\/a>, \u201cI\u2019m definitely not trying to be completely obedient to the lore of the games. I\u2019m trying to tell a story that just feels authentic to the experience you get when you play the games.\u201d<\/p>\n

Austin Abrams (Weapons), Paul Walter Hauser (\u201cBlack Bird\u201d), Zach Cherry (\u201cSeverance\u201d), Kali Reis (\u201cTrue Detective: Night Country\u201d), and Johnno Wilson (\u201cTwisted Metal\u201d) star.<\/p>\n

Constantin Film\u2019s Robert Kulzer, Vertigo Entertainment\u2019s Roy Lee and Miri Yoon, and PlayStation Productions\u2019 Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan are producing.<\/p>\n
