Garda\u00ed have concluded the \u201ccurrent search phase\u201d of the search operation in relation to the disappearance and murders of Jo Jo Dullard and Deirdre Jacob.<\/p>\n
Last Monday, garda\u00ed began a search operation on open ground at a disused quarry in Co Wicklow, near the border with Co Kildare.<\/p>\n
In a statement on Wednesday evening, a garda spokesperson said a further assessment of the site \u201cremains ongoing\u201d.<\/p>\n
The families of Ms Dullard and Ms Jacob have been updated in relation to this phase of the search operation and they have been made aware of the latest developments, garda\u00ed said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAn Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na also acknowledges the ongoing cooperation and support of the landowner.<\/p>\n
\u201cAn Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na appeals to anyone with any information in relation to either investigation, no matter how small or insignificant you might believe it to be to contact any garda station, or anyone who wishes to provide information confidentially should contact the garda confidential line on 1800 666 111.\u201d<\/p>\n
Searches at the quarry site on the Wicklow\/Kildare border got underway last Monday and have continued since.<\/p>\n
Jo Jo Dullard (21) went missing on November 9, 1995, while she was on her way home to Callan in Co Kilkenny after she was out socialising in Dublin.<\/p>\n
She missed her last bus home to Kilkenny and boarded a 10pm bus to Naas in Co Kildare, planning to hitchhike the rest of the way to her home.<\/p>\n
Ms Dullard got a list from Naas to the slip road on the N9 road at Kilcullen in Co Kildare, and got another list to Moone at 11.15pm.<\/p>\n
She made a call to her friend Mary Cullinan from a phone box at 11.37pm. This was the last contact she had with friends and family.<\/p>\n
Deidre Jacob went missing in Newbridge, Co Kildare on July 28, 1998.<\/p>\n
She was last seen near her home at Roseberry in Newbridge at around 3pm that day.<\/p>\n
