{"id":318045,"date":"2026-02-26T09:29:07","date_gmt":"2026-02-26T09:29:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/318045\/"},"modified":"2026-02-26T09:29:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-26T09:29:07","slug":"second-arrest-in-a-day-by-police-investigating-disappearance-of-lisa-dorrian","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/318045\/","title":{"rendered":"Second arrest in a day by police investigating disappearance of Lisa Dorrian"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A second person has been arrested in a day by police investigating the disappearance and murder of Lisa Dorrian.<\/p>\n<p>The 25-year-old from Bangor, Co Down, was last seen alive on February 27th 2005 after attending a party at Ballyhalbert Caravan Park.<\/p>\n<p>Despite extensive searches in multiple locations and campaigning by her family, Dorrian\u2019s body has never been found.<\/p>\n<p>Police said a 42-year-old man was arrested in Scotland on Wednesday on suspicion of murder, assisting offenders, withholding information and preventing a lawful and decent burial.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Our detectives have made a second arrest today in relation to the murder and disappearance of Lisa Dorrian.<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/w628lW8eu7\" rel=\"nofollow\">https:\/\/t.co\/w628lW8eu7<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/3Z3fAO0lEk\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/3Z3fAO0lEk<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Police Service NI (@PoliceServiceNI) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PoliceServiceNI\/status\/2026742721533104410?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">February 25, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hours earlier, a 40-year-old woman was arrested in Bangor.<\/p>\n<p>She was arrested on suspicion of murder, assisting offenders, withholding information and preventing a lawful and decent burial, and remained in police custody on Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n<p>Detective Chief Inspector Kerrie Foreman acknowledged the support of Police Scotland, as well as the PSNI\u2019s Cross-Border Transit Officers.<br \/>\u200b<br \/>\u201cIt\u2019s almost 21 years since Lisa\u2019s disappearance and murder.
