Chloe Madeley<\/a> has hit back at Jameela Jamil<\/a>‘s ‘deeply misguided’ feminist rant about women looking ‘scarily thin’ at the BAFTAs.<\/p>\n

Activist and actress Jameela, 40,\u00a0branded the female attendees at Sunday’s BAFTA Awards ceremony ‘scarily thin’ in an impassioned rant on social media on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

But TV personality Chloe, the daughter of Richard Madeley<\/a> and Judy\u00a0Finnigan, has now shared her criticisms of Jameela’s post.<\/p>\n

Chloe, 38, took to her Instagram Story on Wednesday to brand Jameela ‘full of herself’ as she deemed the comments ‘just a thinly veiled dig’ at women who are slim.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Imagine being so full of yourself and your feminist views that you publicly determine another woman’s body size as a deliberate bend to the patriarchy. The woman doing this does not read as feminist to me. At all. AT ALL.<\/p>\n

In a second post, Chloe shared part of Jameela’s statement where she said: ‘If we all collectively refused to starve ourselves, they would have to bend us.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

Referencing the comment, Chloe added: ‘What? [confused emoji]. Love the sentiment but no.’\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Chloe’s then shared her criticism of Jameela’s quote about women ‘bending’ themselves ‘at any cost to their mental and physical health’ as she urged the younger generation to be whatever size they please, but ensure they are ‘not easy to break’.<\/p>\n

Commenting on that part, Chloe asked ‘Do we though?’ before adding: ‘”Be whatever size you wish UNLESS you’re slim, because then you’re bending and you’re causing a problem for our daughters. BTW I’m an advocate of the body positive movement and how dare you comment on our size!”‘<\/p>\n

Finally Chloe shared part of Jameela’s post where she wrote: ‘They want us easy to carry, to chase, to batter. The war on women requires fighters.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘The ones coming to protect us, we now know statistically, will sadly not be men.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

Chloe said of the comment: ‘Love the sentiment but women’s physical strength and size isn’t going to end the patriarchy.<\/p>\n

‘This is just a thinly veiled dig at another woman’s body size all in the name of (deeply misguided) feminism.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jameela is known for her campaigns criticising rigid beauty standards for women and her fight against the patriarchy.<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Jameela voiced her thoughts on\u00a0the women in attendance Sunday’s BAFTA<\/a> Awards – after fans speculated over actress Emma Stone<\/a>‘s slimmer figure.<\/p>\n

Jameela shared her concern over the size of the female attendees as she said:\u00a0‘I resent this beauty standard being pushed on everyone.’<\/p>\n

She went on to say that it is ‘not the time to be frail’ and ‘women need to be strong’ to combat the erosion of women’s rights<\/a> in the current climate.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘The women at the Baftas were scarily thin… it’s a specifically fragile type of thin,’ Jameela wrote.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘I resent this beauty standard being pushed on everyone, I resent the obedience of my industry, and fear the impact on impressionable people at home thinking that this is the only way to be accepted.’<\/p>\n

She added: ‘This is not the time to be frail. Women need to be strong, to fight back for our ever diminishing rights and safety.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘There is a deliberate POLITICAL reason behind wanting women and girls to be frail, hungry tired and easy to hurt.’<\/p>\n

In the caption, Jameela went on to urge her fellow women to ‘eat their protein and carbs’ and ‘be difficult to break’.<\/p>\n

‘If we all collectively refused to starve ourselves, they would have to bend to us,’ she wrote.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘But we *rush* to bend first, at any cost to our mental and physical health, and that of the next generation watching. Be whatever size you wish but please try to be as strong as you physically can. Please be difficult to steal, to beat, to break.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘They want us easy to carry, to chase, to batter. The war on women requires fighters.
