{"id":318403,"date":"2026-02-26T14:15:10","date_gmt":"2026-02-26T14:15:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/318403\/"},"modified":"2026-02-26T14:15:10","modified_gmt":"2026-02-26T14:15:10","slug":"an-post-announces-300-new-jobs-in-postal-delivery-staff-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/318403\/","title":{"rendered":"An Post announces 300 new jobs in postal delivery staff \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/an-post\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/an-post\/\">An Post<\/a> plans to hire 300 more postal delivery staff nationwide to meet the demand for its parcel delivery service.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The new workers will be hired throughout the State.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The company has also opened a new parcel processing facility at Cheeverstown, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dublin\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dublin\/\">Dublin<\/a> 24, which will be automated over the coming months, in time for the 2026 peak season. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Parcel volumes are \u201cexceeding all forecasts through ecommerce growth\u201d, a statement from An Post said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cVolumes in 2025 were 27 per cent up on the prior year overall, leading to three million parcels being delivered by An Post every week in the lead up to Christmas.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Parcel volumes in January and February 2026 were almost 50 per cent higher than in the same months last year. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The company also confirmed the group\u2019s 2025 results would show growth in revenue, earnings, cash and profit compared with 2024.
