Aldi Ireland’s new 2% wage increase came into effect this month.<\/p>\n

The wage hike means that workers in Aldi’s Irish stores will earn \u20ac15.40 per hour, which can rise to \u20ac17.75 after one to three years of service.<\/p>\n

The increase is part of the supermarket chain’s commitment to meet the new Living Wage Recommendation of \u20ac15.40 per hour.<\/p>\n

Aldi has 166 stores across Ireland, and employs more than 4,800 staff.<\/p>\n

Speaking in January, Niall O’Connor, Aldi Ireland\u2019s Country Managing Director said: “We are proud to confirm a 2% pay increase for our valued hourly colleagues, effective from 1 February.<\/p>\n

“This marks the eighth consecutive year we have met or exceeded the recommended Living Wage.”<\/p>\n

It comes after news of Aldi workers in the UK will receive a wage increase as well.<\/p>\n

Aldi will introduce a new \u00a313.50 rule in just over a month, in a major boost for its workers. From April 1, Store Assistants working at UK branches chain will earn \u00a313.50 per hour nationally, with those working inside in the M25 getting \u00a314.88, reports the Express<\/a>.<\/p>\n

They pay rates increase to \u00a314.47 and \u00a315.20 respectively based on length of service.<\/p>\n

Aldi says the change will benefit 28,000 hourly-paid store workers, marking the second pay rise for Aldi teams in 2026 alone, after January’s announcement of enhanced rates and extended maternity pay to 26 weeks at full pay.<\/p>\n
