A weather forecaster in Ireland has recorded the warmest temperature of the year so far.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday, Ireland Weather<\/a> Alerts reported a temperature<\/a> reading of 14.2 degrees, saying that it was the “warmest on the weather station in 2026.” Meanwhile Met Eireann<\/a> also recorded a highest temperature of 14 degrees yesterday, at 1pm.<\/p>\n In Cork<\/a> at Moore Park weather station, the highest temperature of the day was recorded, at 14.8 degrees. Phoenix Park<\/a> recorded a temperature of 14.7 degrees on Wednesday.<\/p>\n The highest temperature in January 2026 was 13.6\u00b0C, recorded at Phoenix Park, Co Dublin<\/a>. Data on February’s highest temperature so far is not available, and will not be until the month’s completion.<\/p>\n Despite the temperatures being in the teens yesterday and today, things are set to soon take a turn. Lows of -3 are expected on Friday night. Temperatures may hover between 0 and -3 degrees.<\/p>\n Friday is also due to start off drizzly, but become drier and brighter with daytime temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees in moderate northwesterly winds.<\/p>\n Moving into the evening it will become dry and frosty with long clear spells leading to widespread frost and icy patches forming. Cloudier further west with outbreaks of rain and drizzle spreading eastwards through the day becoming more isolated as it clears. Scattered showers will follow in behind. Highest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees, before cooling off overnight once more with lowest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees and some rain and drizzle.<\/p>\n Sunday will be wet and blustery, highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees and outbreaks of heavy rain.<\/p>\n Met Eireann said that the general forecast is unsettled with rain and showers moving in from the Atlantic.
