{"id":319504,"date":"2026-02-27T04:41:17","date_gmt":"2026-02-27T04:41:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/319504\/"},"modified":"2026-02-27T04:41:17","modified_gmt":"2026-02-27T04:41:17","slug":"drone-delivery-company-manna-signs-partnership-with-uber-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/319504\/","title":{"rendered":"Drone delivery company Manna signs partnership with Uber \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/uber\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/uber\/\">Uber<\/a> has signed a deal with Irish drone delivery company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/manna\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/manna\/\">Manna<\/a> that will see the US-founded firm launch drone deliveries for its Uber Eats customers across Europe.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\">The partnership, which will mark Uber\u2019s first European launch of drone delivery, will combine Manna\u2019s technology and Uber\u2019s global platform and logistics expertise. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\">Launching in Ireland, where Manna already has drone delivery services operating in some areas, the partnership will allow Manna to expand its aerial deliveries into more European cities. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall b-it-article-body__text--left\">\u201cOur focus has always been on building a delivery system that can scale sustainably across markets,\u201d said Manna chief executive <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/bobby-healy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/bobby-healy\/\">Bobby Healy<\/a>. \u201cPartnering with Uber allows us to integrate our technology into a global platform and expand into additional cities in a structured, responsible way over time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Manna, which was cofounded by Healy, has completed more than 250,000 drone deliveries across Europe, and 60,000 from its hub in Dublin 15. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">It has been eyeing international expansion in recent months, testing its drones in countries such as Finland. The company has also sought to expand to new sites in Ireland, including Tallaght and Dundrum. However, it has encountered some opposition locally. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The new partnership with Uber is a \u201cdefining moment\u201d for drone delivery, Manna chief operating officer Eoghan Huston said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cOver the past seven years, we\u2019ve proven that autonomous aerial logistics can operate safely, reliably and at scale in real communities,\u201d said Huston. \u201cIntegrating with Uber\u2019s global platform allows us to bring that capability to more consumers, merchants and independent retailers \u2014 accelerating the shift toward faster, cleaner last-mile delivery.
