Paul McCartney<\/a> has revealed his favourite films after joining Letterboxd.<\/p>\n

The Beatles<\/a> icon gave an interview to his website, paulmccartney.com<\/a>, yesterday (February 26), where he was asked about his favourite films and documentaries.<\/p>\n

He told fans that he likes documentaries, and one that \u201creally stuck\u201d with him is the 2021 film Cow, which chronicles the daily life of a dairy cow.\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s pretty hardcore, but very good. It reminded me of Linda\u2019s song of the same name, which is equally as powerful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then, in response to a question about the film reviewing website, McCartney shared his top four films.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Girl Can\u2019t Help It, I always love that one and watch it again and again,\u201d he wrote. \u201cOn the Waterfront, with Marlon Brando, fantastic film. Get Out, I think Jordan Peele did a great job with that. And The Last Waltz \u2013 that\u2019s a nice one to round it out.\u201d<\/p>\n

He then officially joined Letterboxd<\/a>, where he listed the above films as his favourites. He also gave some insight into his new documentary, Paul McCartney: Man On The Run<\/a>, writing that watching the film was \u201clike a period of my life flashing before my eyes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s wonderful because it\u2019s full of different emotions and facets. One of the big things for me is seeing so much of Linda, which is great for me and the kids,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

He went on to write: There are parts that are embarrassing. I even asked Morgan Neville if we should take some of those bits out; like me doing \u2018Mary Had a Little Lamb\u2019 with a red nose on, and the band in silly outfits. I thought maybe we didn\u2019t need that. But he said, no, that it works, and that the ups and downs make the ending feel more earned. I think he\u2019s right.<\/p>\n

\u201cOverall, it\u2019s a success story. The big question after the Beatles was: How do you follow that? Do you not bother? Or if you try, how? I think we did it in a particularly madcap way, and that\u2019s what\u2019s good about the film, it shows how we pulled it off.\u201d<\/p>\n

Directed by Morgan Neville (20 Feet From Stardom,\u00a0Best Of Enemies),\u00a0Paul McCartney: Man On The Run\u00a0charts the musician\u2019s career, including the rise of his new band\u00a0Wings<\/a>, following the break-up of The Beatles.<\/p>\n

The documentary features archival footage alongside interviews with McCartney,\u00a0Mick Jagger<\/a>,\u00a0Chrissie Hynde<\/a>, Sean Ono Lennon and Paul\u2019s daughters Mary and Stella McCartney.<\/p>\n

NME gave the film a four-star review<\/a>, which read: \u201cThe director does an excellent job of capturing the weight of expectations laid at McCartney\u2019s door in April 1970, when he casually revealed that the Beatles were no more \u2013 despite the fact that\u00a0John Lennon<\/a>\u00a0had quietly requested a \u201cdivorce\u201d from the group seven months earlier.<\/p>\n
