The couple pictured with their daughters on their wedding day.\u00a0<\/p>\nTracey Smiddy and David Hackett first met 13 years ago when they were both working as bouncers in Cork.<\/p>\n
Tracey, from Shanagarry, and David, from Mayfield, hit it off and even dated briefly before Tracey moved to Waterford.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was never far from my mind, and he says the same about me,\u201d said Tracey of that time.<\/p>\n

She moved back to Cork, and when David reached out, she said \u201cwe both knew instantly we were meant to be together.\u201d The couple got engaged in February, 2024.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith the help of our eldest daughter, Dave got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I was not overly impressed with the proposal as we were running late to catch a flight. It wasn\u2019t till we landed in Scotland that it had hit me he had asked me to marry him,\u201d said Tracey.<\/p>\n
The couple was joined by their family and friends earlier this month when they tied the knot in Tracey\u2019s home town of Shanagarry.<\/p>\n
The bride sourced her gown from Diamond Bridal. \u201cGrace helped me pick out the dress. It was the first dress I tried on, and there was no changing my mind.\u201d Make-up was by Angie Budden, while hair was by Hair By Mar.<\/p>\n
David\u2019s suit was from Suits.ie.<\/p>\n

The couple was supported on the day by Maid of Honour Angie Dalton and bridesmaid Mary O\u2019Riordan, while the best man and groomsmen were David\u2019s brothers Steve and Sean, respectively.<\/p>\n

Tracey and David were wed in Tracey’s hometown in Shanagarry.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The couple\u2019s daughters, Robyn and Harper, and Tracey\u2019s niece Quinn were flowergirls, while the pageboy was Dave\u2019s nephew, Sean.<\/p>\n
Music at the church was by \u201cthe amazingly talented\u201d Linda Cusack, while flowers were by Mary and Kate\u2019s Flowers in Cloyne.<\/p>\n
After the ceremony, the couple held a reception for their guests at Garryvoe Hotel.<\/p>\n

Family and friends enjoyed a host of entertainment with music from Claire Murphy at the reception, and James Draws Faces at hand to create caricatures and drawings.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe danced the night away with Flog the Dog and they had the dance floor full at all times,\u201d the couple said.<\/p>\n
The wedding cake was from Ruairi\u2019s Kitchen in Douglas.<\/p>\n

Photos on the day were by Laura and Benny Photography. \u201cWe braved the cliffs of Ballycotton to get some group photos. Thankfully, the sun came out just at the right moment,\u201d Tracey and David said.<\/p>\n
The couple, who now live in Castlemartyr, said the day \u201cwas magical\u201d from start to finish.<\/p>\n
